Take a break from close work. Each time you turn a page take a couple seconds to look up from your reading and refocus across the room. Distance focus is a more relaxed focus than close focus. |

Cover your eyes with your palms. Rub your hands together to warm them. Then close your eyes and place your palms over your eyes for a quick break. The warmth and darkness relieves tension. |

Look out a window. If you're indoors, walk over to the window and look out into the natural bright light. Shift your focus from near objects to distant objects. |
